2021.12.08 16:38 StinkyPete312 Sad-Faced Hillary Clinton gets emotional reading 'Would Have Been' 2016 victory speech that never got to be

I had my first bad trip a few months ago. Took a really potent 3g and was definitely not ready for it. But I'm actually really grateful it happened and wouldn't even necessarily call it a bad trip. More like a necessary trip. The kind where you really see every part of yourself, even the things you don't want to look at or reject.
I had a few friends over to trip. I'm usually the kind of person that hangs out with one person at a time, and have always described myself as a bit of a chameleon. Always changing a bit to fit whoever I was around. But I realized that, with everyone here, I didn't know who to be. I had no way to combine each different "face" of myself into something that pleased everyone, and didn't know what I'm supposed to act like without those different masks.
I felt incredibly anxious and it made me feel paranoid and insecure. But for each of the feelings I began to feel, it was almost as if I took a little backdoor into a maintenance shaft of my current state of mind, and was able to explore why I felt what I felt very objectively. It was as if my consciousness was split in to: one half involved in the feeling, and one half involved in observing that feeling.
I realized my social anxiety really stems from a need to make everyone like me. The need to please others and make them happy. To always present the polished version of myself to everyone, which is different depending on the person. I realized that I don't really know who I am on my own, and am very codependent and have a hard time just existing alone.
I actually thought it over for a few days and decided to attend therapy and start trying to help myself. And it feels so great to be in a place, months later, where I'm much more confident in myself, and at least have some idea of who I am when I'm alone.
Without that "bad trip", I don't think I would have done that. I'm actually really grateful I got to experience that, however scary it was at the time, because I really do feel like I'm a much stronger person now.

2021.12.08 16:38 henrylondon1988 Battery life of MacBook Pro 14inch, bit disappointed

I got my MacBook Pro 14inch since last week. I have been putting the machine into its pace. Battery life is one area I am most disappointed with. I have only been using the MacBook for some light tasks, MS Word, Email, Chrome and Video Conferences, for 4 hours and half, only 43% left from being fully charged in the morning. Is this about normal?

Hello there, I'm a college student looking for a couple of parents to take a quick survey on my marketing project. This project is about developing a marketing plan for a new product, my group decided on a baby monitor. I would greatly appreciate any parents taking this short survey, which takes less than 2 minutes.

2021.12.08 16:38 gemini_sunshine Avoiding day/night cycle stress

I love this game so much.
My major complaint is that I always have this back-of-my-head ticking anxiety about what time of day it is and how long until 2am. Timed sequences always make me stressed in games, and SDV is a perpetual timed sequence.
Being on PS, mods aren't an option. What are some tactics y'all use to mitigate any timing anxiety you might experience?

2021.12.08 16:38 xour I'm a self-taught backend developer (.NET), what should I learn to fill in knowledge gaps?

Hi there! I'm a self-taught backend developer that has been working on .NET WebAPIs for the past three years. I'm comfortable with my day-to-day work, but I still have a lot of knowledge gaps that I need to fill in. In other words, I feel that if somehow I move away from the projects I'm working on, I will be totally lost.
My goal here is two-fold: get better at my current work, and prepare myself for future interviews.
Fortunately, I have some time to spare, that I intend to use to fix this issue. Here are some things I believe I should learn (or at least be familiar with):

• OOP principles (Abstraction, Encapsulation, Inheritance, and Polymorphism)
• SOLID and DRY principles
• Design patterns (clean, vertical, repository)
• Data Structures and Algorithms (no idea which ones though!)
• Properly learn what RESTful is
• Databases (go past basic queries)
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Entity Framework (performance, advanced usage)
I'm not expected to learn anything related to the frontend side of things, so for now I can get away without that.
If I'm comfortable working with git and the .NET framework itself, what else should I include on this list? Any articles, books, courses, videos, lectures, whatever you want to recommend?
Any tip or advice you may have will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

2021.12.08 16:38 tapitandscrapit Trying to find a term for what my sexuality is.

Title pretty much says it all. I don't really have anyone in-person to ask, because I am not ready to come out about it quite yet. But I am a cis male, who is attracted to women in every way. However, I am also attracted to trans-women. I'm not sure if this is still considered bisexuality, or what. But like, I have no interest in dating a male or even sexually attracted to a "manly" male. Just trans women and cis women. I guess I am just seeking some clarity for myself?

2021.12.08 16:38 Regolio Thermal expansion result contradiction

I was working on this problem which looks easy: https://imgur.com/A5pD6qt
And here are my result: [; Thermal expansion for glass: $\beta_g = 27 \times 10{-6 \hspace{2mm} \circ}C{-1}$
Thermal expansion for water: $\beta_w = 210 \times 10{-6 \hspace{2mm} \circ}C{-1}$ \begin{eqnarray} \Delta T = 35{\circ} C\ V_g = 800 mL \ Vw = 100 mL \ \Delta V_g = (800)(27 \times 10{-6})(35) = 0.756 mL \ V_g' = 800.756 mL \ \Delta V_w = (100)(210 \times 10{-6})(35) = 0.735 mL \ V_w' = 100.735 mL \ \end{eqnarray}
Assuming the glass has cylindrical shape, the volume is: V = A h. Where the base area of the glass and water is the same.
The height ratio before expansion: $\frac{h_w}{h_g} = \frac{V_w}{V_g} = 0.1250$
The height ratio after expansion: $\frac{h_w'}{h_g'} = \frac{V_w'}{V_g'} = 0.1258$ ;]
Therefore, I conclude that the water level rises. However, the answer key says: https://imgur.com/A5SljUJ
I think my answer is correct and the answer key is wrong, but I would like to have second opinion.
